Tolmeia menziesii ‘Cool Gold’

'Cool Gold' is a gold version of the BC native piggyback plant, Tolmeia menziesii, for moist shady places.

Tolmeia menziesii ‘Cool Gold’ has soft, cool, gold foliage that retains its colour throughout the season. It is fast growing and makes a wonderful bright spot in the shade garden that can be used as an accent or a ground cover. This is a gold version of the BC native piggyback plant that graces the shady spaces of coastal BC. The common name comes from the habit of this species to produce young plantlets that sit on top of the mature foliage before falling to the ground to root in.
