Tacca chantrieri ‘Black’
You'll never forget the first time you see a black bat flower in full bloom! Tacca chantrieri 'Black' is super botanically intriguing.

Tacca chantrieri ‘Black’, the black bat flower, is a botanically intriguing plant with unusual large, purple-black flowers and bracts that resemble flying bats wtih long, hanging whiskers. The 5-6 inch wide inflorescence emerges during the summer or fall from a rhizome bearing shiny, ribbed, green leaves that are very ornamental. Plants can reach 18-24 inches high and wide. In colder climates they make an excellent indoor potted plant but require high humidity and consistently moist soil. The long lasting inflorescences are also good as cut flowers.
