Stachys officinalis ‘Pink Cotton Candy’

Stachys 'Pink Cotton Candy' forms delightful spikes of light pink flowers atop interesting mounds of pleated foliage.

Stachys ‘Pink Cotton Candy’ has very showy spikes of light and dark pink, bicoloured flowers that rise up to 24 inches. Compact, deep green, pleated foliage. Essentially a light pink version of ‘Hummelo’. This species was the most important medicinal herb to the Anglo-Saxons of early medieval Great Britain. The Anglo Saxon Herbal recommends using this species to prevent bad dreams: to avoid “frightful nocturnal goblins and terrible sights and dreams.” It was commonly grown in physic gardens and monasteries.
