Silphium perfoliatum ‘The Holy Grail’

Silphium perfoliatum 'The Holy Grail' is a dramatic cup plant due to its height, chartreuse foliage and bright yellow daisies.

Silphium perfoliatum is known as the cup plant due to its large, triangular, toothed leaves that clasp the stem and catch rain water. It can reach dramatic heights up to 6-8 feet tall with a 3 foot spread. Bright yellow, daisy-like, nectar-rich flowers bloom in summer. Birds and insects use the collected water for a source of drinking water plus birds will eat the seeds. ‘The Holy Grail’ is a special selection with lime green to gold foliage. Grow in rich, well-drained soil. Use as a focal point at the back of the sunny border or in the cottage garden for vertical and wow appeal. Pollinator attractor.
