Silene virginica

Silene virginica has fiery scarlet red stars that are a natural hummingbird magnet!

Silene virginica has bright, thin petalled red star-like flowers held above clean, dark green foliage. This great little plant is native to eastern North America. Short-lived, but reseeds freely. Commonly referred to as catchfly due to it’s sticky stems and sepals. A hummingbird magnet! Super flexible in soil moisture requirements from dry to moist as long as conditions are well-drained and in light requirements from sun to part shade. Have fun.
