Selenicereus ‘Halley’s Comet’

Selenicereus (syn. Hylocereus) 'Halley's Comet' is a hybrid of white and red fleshed species with huge, sweet fruit.

Selenicereus (syn. Hylocereus) ‘Halley’s Comet’ is a hybrid of white and red fleshed species that produces red fruit with green fin-like scales and sweet purplish red flesh with crunchy black seeds. The fruit is huge up to 1.5-2 pounds and produced from gorgeous, white, fragrant, night-blooming flowers. Plants are self-fertile though hand pollination is recommended. Also pollination by another cultivar may increase fruit set. A cool houseplant with the potential for delicious edible fruit. A hybrid between S. undatus and S. polyrhizus.
