It is a beautiful and intriguing bulb with clusters of golden anthers held on red filaments surrounded by burgundy red bracts on stems up to 2.5 feet high. The decorative red berries can remain on the plant for up to two months. The broad, rippled, light green leaves emerge with the flowers.
