Salvia ‘Amante’

Salvia 'Amante' is a stunning hybrid with dramatic black stems and calyces with hot red and magenta flowers.

‘Amante’ is a stunning cross of Salvia guaranitica with S. gesneriifolia with dramatic black stems and calyces that produce hot red and magenta flowers. The plants will bloom from early summer through to frost and attract tons of hummingbirds. A sister cultivar to ‘Amistad’. Use as a dramatic summer planting in the garden or pots. Treat as an annual or overwinter indoors in greenhouse, house, or garage keeping just above freezing. Could overwinter in coastal BC in protected spots where it is mulched heavily.
