Roscoea purpurea ‘Brown Peacock’

Roscoea ‘Brown Peacock' has orchid-like, lavender flowers on top of purple-brown stalks with clasping green leaves that are red-flushed beneath.

This hardy ginger relative has dark leaves with deep red reverses in clumps with showy, thick, purple-brown stems. Roscoea purpurea ‘Brown Peacock’ has lavender, orchid-like flowers on the top of the stalks in mid summer. It can be used as a tropical element or in mixed part shade beds. A good container plant.
