Rhododendron catawbiense ‘Royal Resilience’
Rhodoendron catawbiense 'Royal Resilience' has glowing lavender-pink flowers and great disease resistance.
Rhododendron catawbiense ‘Royal Resilience’ is a sport of ‘Roseum Elegans’ with large clusters of eye-catching lavender-pink flowers. The plants were trialed for 25 years before release, a period that revealed this cultivar’s vigorous growth and extremely high resistance to root and foliar disease allowing successful growth in warm, humid climates as well as more traditional rhodo territory like BC. It will reach 4-6 feet tall and wide. Glossy green foliage is long and lance-shaped. Responds well to pruning shortly after flowering. Use as an accent, hedge, understory, privacy screen, mass planting and for winter interest. Hummingbird and pollinator attractor.
