Rhododendron ‘Blue Baron’

Rhododendron 'Blue Baron' is a semi-dwarf, compact, evergreen shrub with unique violet-blue flowers in spring.

Rhododendron ‘Blue Baron’ is a stunning cultivar with intense violet-blue flower buds opening up to clusters of lighter, near-blue trumpet-shaped flowers with lavender throats — all most uncommon colours for rhodos! Plants make for an attractive specimen in the sunny to part shade garden with a nice, compact, mounding habit averaging 3-4 feet tall and wide displaying finely textured, elliptical foliage that is glossy green in summer with bronze tones in winter. Slow growing. Use in the mixed shrub border, as a specimen, in the foreground of larger flowering shrubs, or in containers.
