Punica granatum ‘Dwarf Red’

Punica granatum 'Dwarf Red' is an ornamental pomegranate with orange-red flowers all summer long followed by pretty fruit.

Punica granatum ‘Dwarf Red’ is an ornamental pomegranate similar in stature and habit to ‘Nana’ growing to 3-4 feet tall and wide and producing numerous, interesting orange-red flowers through the season but having ornamental rather than edible fruit. Pomegranates can break dormancy late into the spring so don’t lose hope if conditions are cold and you don’t see growth yet. Provide full sun and as much heat as you can. Pomegranates require lots of sun and heat to bloom and fruit. They are self fertile and leaf out in late spring.
