Prunus avium ‘Rainier’
Prunus avium 'Rainier' is one of the best early-season sweet yellow cherries.

Prunus avium ‘Rainier’ is one of the best yellow sweet cherry cultivars. Clusters of fragrant white flowers in spring are followed by an early season harvest of very large, firm, juicy and very sweet fruit. The skin is golden-yellow with a red blush. Excellent for eating fresh, canning and preserves. Ornamentally attractive with a spreading canopy of dark green leaves that turn bronze and golden-yellow in fall. Trees are on semi-dwarf rootstock and will reach 12-15 feet tall. Needs pollination from another cherry variety.
