And now for something completely different, Primula auricula ‘Gustl’ from the Bavarian Gaudi series! It offers large clusters of fragrant, single, bulls eye-like flowers with an outer ring of grey green followed by a ring of greenish yellow, a ring of white, and a greenish yellow centre. Thick, waxy leaves form a low rosette. Enjoys moist but well-drained soil. Use in the alpine, rock and woodland garden, in edging at the front of the border, containers and cut flowers. Deer and rabbit resistant.
