Phlebodium (Polypodium) aureum ‘Blue Star’
Virginia blue fern (Phlebodium aureum) offers amazing silver blue foliage for mild climates or as a striking houseplant.

The unique Virginia blue fern (Phlebodium aureum, syn. Polypodium aureum) is strikingly silvery blue in colour with mitt shaped fronds that are deeply lobed and that travel on little rabbit feet rhizomes. It can reach 12 inches or more tall with evergreen leaves. Will brighten up a shady area in the garden or in a container. Hardy to zone 8 and potentially hardy in protected locations outdoors in coastal BC. Also makes a fantastic houseplant.
