Persea americana ‘Stewart’
Persea americana 'Stewart' is one of the most cold tolerant of any avocado with tasty fruit with a nutty flavour.

The avocado plant (Persea americana) is a subtropical tree with lustrous dark green evergreen leaves that often emerge flushed with orange or red. It is grown for the abundant production of its well-known, delicious, buttery fruits. Trees can be grown as potted specimens and protected indoors during Canadian winters. ‘Stewart’ is one of the most cold hardy avocado. It is a Mexican type with pear shaped, 6-10 oz. fruit with smooth, think, dark skin and a nutty flavour. The trees are strong and spreading. Cold tolerant to -7 degrees C (20 degrees F). It is an A Type and requires a B Type for cross pollination and to get fruit on both trees.
