Penstemon caespitosus ‘Wagon Wheel’

Penstemon caespitosus 'Wagon Wheel' is a ground hugging perennial with stems that grow into circular mats of small blue flowers.

Penstemon caespitosus ‘Wagon Wheel’ is a great little ground cover perennial that gets its name from its prostrate stems that grow into circular, evergreen mats. Shining amongst the dark green foliage are masses of tiny tubular flowers in shades of blue to lavender. Foliage is bright green, narrow and lance-shaped. Enjoys well-drained soil. Does not like to be over-watered. Grow in the rock garden, at the front of the border, or as an effective water-wise ground cover. Very popular with pollinators.
