Papaver orientale plena ‘Red Shades’
Papaver orientale plena 'Red Shades' is an Oriental poppy with extra large, semi-double ruffled, red petals and dark centres.

Papaver orientale plena ‘Red Shades’ is a semi to double Oriental poppy. Extra large, ruffled, crepe-like, red flowers and dark centres rise above grey-green, fern-like toothed leaves on strong, upright flower stems. Growth habit 30 to 32 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. Oriental poppies are dramatic additions to the perennial border. Grow in organically rich, medium moisture soil and full sun. They go semi-dormant after flowering as summer heat increases usually flushing new foliage as summer cools into fall. Plant a low, mounding perennial in front of your poppy patch to mask the bare spot. Pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
