Paeonia x suffruticosa Chinese ‘Ling Hua Zhan Lu’
Paeonia x suffruticosa 'Ling Hua Zhan Lu' is a tree peony with large, lavender pink flowers and yellow stamens.

Paeonia x suffruticosa or tree peonies are beloved garden plants in both Western and Asian horticultural traditions though the history of cultivation in China dates back thousands of years and in Japan to about a thousand years embedding this plant in their rich traditions and cultures. Tree peonies are woody shrubs that produce large, gorgeous flowers in spring in a much wider range of colours than the herbaceous garden peonies. ‘Ling Hua Zhan Lu’, also known as Limpid Dew on Two Horned Flower, has large, fragrant, double flowers in lavender pink with yellow stamens. It is a Chinese Central Plains cultivar. Provide good soil drainage. In zone 4 (and perhaps 5 to be safe), wrap to protect from cold temperatures, winter desiccation, and freeze-thaw cycles.
