Paeonia Itoh ‘Unique’
Paeonia 'Unique' has single red flowers with yellow centres. Itohs are exciting crosses between tree and garden peonies.
Paeonia ‘Unique’ has stunning single blooms in deep red that don’t fade in full sun and contrast with the yellow stamens. Foliage is finer than other hybrids on plants 30-36 inches high and wide. Itoh peonies are intersectional hybrids between tree peonies (P. suffruticosa) and garden peonies (P. lactiflora) making outstanding herbaceous perennials with huge flowers in many unusual colours. A mature plant can have over 50 blooms! The foliage is like a tree peony and emerges rich red, gradually turning green.
