Paeonia Garden Candy ‘Candy Apple’ has big double blooms of vibrant, deep magenta-red petals and yellow stamens. The compact, rounded plants are 36 inches tall and wide. No staking required. The Garden Candy series was bred to create vigorous double flowered cultivars with vibrant colours. Itoh peonies are intersectional hybrids between tree peonies (P. suffruticosa) and garden peonies (P. lactiflora) making outstanding herbaceous perennials with huge flowers in many unusual colours. A mature plant can have over 50 blooms! The foliage is like a tree peony and emerges rich red, gradually turning green.
