Ornithogalum dubium is unusual in its genus for having bright tangerine orange flowers rather than white and green centres. It blooms in spring with rounded heads of its star-like flowers on stems up to 20 inches tall. This frost tender bulb needs to be stored in a dry frost-free location in winter or, in zone 8, planted in a protected location against a building. Provide lots of water when in growth followed by a dry resting period. Endemic to the Cape of South Africa.
