Origanum vulgare ‘Gilt Trip’

Origanum 'Gilt Trip' is an ornamental oregano with lilac flowers, mauve calyxes and aromatic, chartreuse-yellow foliage.

Origanum ‘Gilt Trip’ is a lovely ornamental with lilac flowers during the summer on upright stems atop chartreuse-yellow foliage. The mauve calyxes that hold the flowers remain after the flowers are spent to extend the show. The leaves are aromatic and edible but with less intense flavour than other culinary oreganos. Fast growing, bushy and clumping to 24 inches high and 32 inches wide. Tolerates the heat and stress of summer. Great as a border plant, in the rock garden, and containers. Attracts pollinators like crazy. Deer resistant.
