Opuntia basilaris var. brachyclada 'San Bernardino' is a cylindrical-leaved beavertail prickly pear cactus.

Opuntia basilaris var. brachyclada ‘San Bernardino’ is derived from the rare and endangered beavertail prickly pear cactus that comes from San Bernardino County. The cylindrical pads are blue-grey with lots of short spines and huge, bright pink, cup-shaped flowers that emerge from late spring to early summer. Its growth habit can average 12 inches tall with a spread of 3 to 4 feet. Plant in full sun in sharply draining soil. Protect from winter rain on the West Coast.
