N. cantabricus is a winter or early spring bloomer with large, snow white, “hoop petticoat” flowers and is native to southern Spain, Morocco and Algeria. Subspecies tananicus has greenish yellow colouration at the base of the flower tubs. Plant where the early foliage and flowers have some overhead protection from frost.
