Hericium erinaceus is the lion’s mane mushroom, a culinary/gourmet and medicinal mushroom commonly used in many Asian countries. This large mushroom resembles a lion’s mane that is white and shaggy. It is used for its medicinal properties as well as in fancy dishes, especially in Asia. The Happy Caps mushroom kit includes a live mushroom mycelium block that is super easy to use. Expect your first harvest in a 10-14 days with the possibility of a few more harvests to follow in succession. Once harvests have waned you can sometimes get another by planting outside in the garden in summer and covering with a dusting of soil.
