Mukgenia ‘Nova Flame’

Mukgenia 'Nova Flame' is an unusual intergeneric hybrid breakthrough between useful Bergenia and the lesser known Mukdenia.

Mukgenia ‘Nova Flame’ is an intriguing intergeneric hybrid between Bergenia and its relative Mukdenia. The foliage is thick and leathery with jagged edges and red-flushed undersides. The foliage reddens through summer presenting great fall colour before dropping for its winter dormancy. The flowers are bright fuchsia with star-like petals rather than the bell-shaped flowers of Bergenia.
