Monarda didyma ‘Marshall’s Delight’

Bright and showy pink flowers grace this Canadian selection of the popular beebalm or bergamot. Very resistant to mildew and blooms over a long period from July until September, several weeks longer than many other varieties. Monarda is native to eastern North America, is easy to grow and multiplies quickly. The flowers’ sweet nectar attracts scores of hummingbirds, butterflies and bees to the garden. The aromatic foliage smells like mint when crushed and is often used to flavour teas. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
