Monarda bradburiana ‘Midnight Oil’

Monarda bradburiana 'Midnight Oil' is an uncommon bee balm with pink and cream tubular flowers on green to burgundy leaves.

Monarda bradburiana is an uncommon beebalm species that hails from eastern North America. It is a short plant to just two feet with beautiful, tubular, two-lipped, pinkish to whitish, purple-spotted flowers in the classic beebalm clusters. The flower heads are subtended by a whorl of showy, purple-tinged leafy bracts. The toothed, aromatic, oblong foliage is, in the case of ‘Midnight Oil’, a rich burgundy in the young foliage. Clump forming. Pollinator attractor. Deer resistant.
