Manihot esculenta ‘Variegata’
Manihot 'Variegata' or Cassava is a stunning tropical foliage plant with gold variegated foliage and edible roots!
Cassava is a tall semi-woody shrub with big palmately compound leaves that are a foot or more across. Manihot esculenta ‘Variegata’ is a dramatic variegated form with dark green leaves with bright gold centres on red stems. A striking garden or container specimen plant, it is generally thought of as tropical but some reports suggest greater hardiness. Safest in a pot and kept at a minimum of five Celsius in winter. Cassava roots are one of the most important tropical food crops. Tapioca is made from the starch of the cassava root.
