Delicious and crisp with an outstanding balance of sugar and acid. A productive and reliable producer starting even in its youth. Consume fresh or in desserts or juice as a blend for cider. A high pollen producer for other apple trees in the area, it is self-sterile and needs another cultivar for cross-pollination. Stores for up to four months. Discovered in Indiana, USA in the 1870s.
