Magnolia Spring Welcome
Magnolia 'Spring Welcome' is super hardy to zone 3 with fragrant, white flowers.

Magnolia ‘Spring Welcome’ is a super hardy cross of M. kobus and M. stellata, the star magnolia, bred in North Dakota where it has grown for more than 20 years surviving temperatures down to -40 degrees Celsius or zone 3! It will grow as a large shrub or small tree up to 20 feet tall and wide forming a dense, oval to rounded shape. The pink flower buds gradually open to sweetly fragrant, ivory white, star-like blooms 3-4.5 inches wide. Flowers may give way to cone-like fruits that ripen to red in late summer releasing red seeds. This small tree will fit nicely in most small gardens as a specimen in the garden or at the back of a border. Cultivar name: ‘Ruth’. For the 2025 Rare Flowering Tree Pre-Order plants will be in 1g pots and about 1-2 feet tall.
