Macleaya cordata
Giant background plant with gorgeous blue-green lobed leaves and airy white/pink flowers. Provides dramatic height, texture, and leaf colour to the sun border. Pull out any over-enthusiastic intruders each spring to restrain its enthusiasm. If you want it to flower lower, shear off a foot or so once or twice during the season. Though it spreads I wouldn’t be without its drama in my garden. Note: It doesn’t like growing in pots so it will look thin at the nursery. Just plant it, you’ll see.
