Lycium barbarum Red Empress

Lycium barbarum, also known as the goji berry, is touted as a super food packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is a deciduous shrub that blooms with purple flowers in late spring to early summer. The bright orange-red goji berries ripen from August to October. Red Empress (‘Damaye’) is one of the most popular varieties in China producing abundant crops of large, dark red, sweet and tasty berries. They can be eaten fresh or dried or used in baking.
