Loropetalum chinensis var. rubrum ‘Daybreak’s Flame’

Loropetalum chinense ‘Daybreak’s Flame’ has purplish-red new growth and mid to bright pink fringed flowers.

Loropetalum chinense is a handsome shrub with bold white, pink or deep pink fringed flowers set off by rich green or burgundy foliage. ‘Daybreak’s Flame’ is a low, spreading variety with purplish-red new growth which becomes green. It has mid to hot pink witch hazel-like flowers in spring that will rebloom sporadically throughout the growing season. Grow in containers and protect in winter or, in coastal BC, plant in well-drained soils in a protected location. Can be popular with hummingbirds. Tolerant of dry soils once established.
