Loropetalum chinensis ‘Jazz Hands Pink’, better known as Chinese witch hazel, is a vigorous evergreen shrub with great form, flowers and foliage. Purple foliage with hints of wine-red cover its graceful mounding form that grows 3-5 feet tall and wide. Clusters of fragrant, hot pink, spider-like petals bloom from late winter into spring. Blooms on old wood. Use in the border, as a mass planting, and in containers. Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil in a protected location. Low maintenance. Chinese witch hazel (檵木 or jìmù) has a long history of use in Chinese traditional medicine.
