Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum ‘Fire Dance’

Loropetalum chinense ‘Fire Dance’ has rich burgundy-red leaves and hot pink flowers.

Loropetalum chinense is known as Chinese witch hazel or fringe flower. It is a beautiful semi-evergreen to evergreen shrub with long-blooming, fragrant, spidery, fringed flowers in white and shades of pink. ‘Fire Dance’ is a vigorous, burgundy-red leaved cultivar with spreading, graceful, arching branches. The leaves emerge burgundy red and deepen to purple with age. Its hot pink flowers bloom profusely in spring and sporadically throughout the growing season. Grow in containers and protect in winter or, in coastal BC, plant in well-drained soils in a protected location. Can be popular with hummingbirds. Tolerant of dry soils once established.
