Lirope muscari Purple Explosion is an evergreen lilyturf with mounds of lush grass-like foliage and purple spikes.

Liriope muscari Purple Explosion is an easy care, evergreen lilyturf with lush clumps of dark green, grass-like foliage that can slowly expand via short stolons but are not invasive. Tall spikes of tightly packed, rich purple flowers rise well above the foliage in late summer to fall to 8-12 inches high and wide. Shiny black berries persist into winter. Tolerant of most soil types, heat and humidity. Versatile in the garden adding colour and lush texture. Use as a ground cover, lawn alternative for very low foot traffic areas, for erosion control on slopes, in mass plantings, along pathways, at the edge of borders, in containers, and as cut flowers. Popular with many pollinators. Deer resistant. Cultivar name: ‘Exc051’.
