Lilium (Trumpet) ‘African Queen’
Lilium 'African Queen' is a trumpet lily with tall stems supporting fragrant, golden yellow to apricot coloured flowers.
The exquisite trumpets arrive on the scene in mid to late July (preceding the Oriental lilies in August which you should also have in your garden) and provide dramatic height and fragrance. Lilium ‘African Queen’ has golden yellow and apricot flowers with reddish backs and a sweet fragrance. Looks great towering over purple coneflowers and rising beside the burgundy leaves of castor beans. Good fresh cut flower. Possibly hardy to zone 2.
