Lilium martagon ‘R.O. Backhouse’

Lilium martagon ‘R.O. Backhouse’ has light yellow and pink flowers with tiny red spots.

The martagon is a classic woodland lily with small, delicate, pendant flowers with recurved petals. Lilium ‘R.O. Backhouse’ has straw yellow flowers with a soft magenta reverses and tiny red spots. Great in a part shade or the woodland garden rising above Hosta, Arisaema and Brunnera. Some martagon lilies will take a “year off” especially in the year after being first planted. Dig down carefully to investigate before fretting.
