It is a rare and unique species lily from high elevations of Yunnan and Tibet with sweetly fragrant, lavender to lavender-pink, turks cap style, nodding flowers with recurved petals and dark purple spotting. They are held on open candelabras to three feet tall with 6-12 flowers per stem. Spectacular in early summer garden. Easy to grow in part sun to part shade in cool, evenly moist soils. This species, like L. nepalense, is rhizomatous and can travel around in the garden.
