Lilium canadense

Firey colours on this candelabra of lily flowers.

Lilium canadense is native to eastern North America. It grows into delicate candelabras of downward-facing flaring lily trumpets. The flowers of this lily are variable in colour and come in shades of yellow, orange or red with nice spots. Up to 16-20 flowers can be produced on an established plant. The buds and roots were gathered and eaten by First Nations peoples.
