Leucadendron ‘Safari Sunset’

 

Leucadendron are intriguing evergreen shrubs from South Africa called cone bushes loved for their vibrant foliage and cone shaped inflorescences often surrounded by colourful bracts. ‘Safari Sunset’ has fiery red stems and red-tinged olive green leaves. The silvery flowering cones are surrounded by bright red bracts. Tolerant of wind and salt spray. Hardy to zone 8 but should be grown in protected locations up against buildings or in other protected locations. Try it as a winter houseplant in colder regions.
