Leucadendron ‘Hawaii Magic’

 

Leucadendron are intriguing evergreen shrubs from South Africa called cone bushes loved for their vibrant foliage and cone shaped inflorescences often surrounded by colourful bracts. ‘Hawaii Magic’ has vibrant tightly packed foliage on fiery red stems. The small olive green to blue green leaves flush with a range of red and plum tones from midwinter into spring, accented by yellow cone-like flowers at branch tips. Tolerant of wind and salt spray. A zonal denial plant hardy to zone 9 but, with its compact size, it is easy to find a place to protect it over winter. Try it as a winter houseplant in colder regions.
