Leucadendron galpinii ‘Silver Cone’

 

Leucadendron are intriguing evergreen shrubs from South Africa called cone bushes loved for their vibrant foliage and cone shaped inflorescences often surrounded by colourful bracts. L galpinii ‘Silver Cone’ has silvery green leaves on coral red stems topped with silver cones in spring and summer. Tolerant of wind and salt spray. Hardy to zone 8 but should be grown in protected locations up against buildings or in other protected locations. Try it as a winter houseplant in colder regions.
