Leptinella squallida ‘Platt’s Black’ is a low maintenance, fast-growing, evergreen perennial commonly known as Brass Buttons with a low carpet of feathery, fern-like foliage with gray, purple and black tints spreading to make a soft mat. Small, yellow button-like blossoms are a subtle addition in spring and summer. Tolerant of open shade and light foot traffic. Use between stepping stones, as a lawn replacement and ground cover. Great for suppressing weeds too.
