Knautia macedonica
This long blooming perennial has tufts of green foliage that hold aloft airy stems topped with pincushion-like flowers in magenta to burgundy red. A great “see through” plant like Verbena bonariensis, you can plant it in mid border as its height would suggest or you can bring it right to the front where you can see through it to the rest of the garden thus creating a bit of dynamism.
