Juncus effusus ‘Twister’
Juncus effusus 'Twister', the common rush, has solid, twisted, cylindrical leaves with great sculptural quality.

Juncus effusus ‘Twister’, known as the common rush, is not to be confused with grasses or sedges. Its evergreen leaves are cylindrical, solid and twisted offering a sculptural form to borders and containers. Insignificant small greenish-brown flowers emerge on the sides of the stems just below the stem tips. The foliage retains its colour all year long, especially in warmer winter climates. Clump-forming to 12-14 inches high and wide. Suitable for average, evenly moist soils but also bog gardens, by ponds and streams, in rain and water gardens, and containers for vertical and architectural appeal. An amazingly widespread species native to multiple continents.
