Iris TB ‘War Chief’
Iris 'War Chief' is a bearded iris that blooms mid-season with red-maroon petals and golden beards.

‘War Chief’ is a late spring to early summer bloomer with a big bold presence in the garden sporting ruffled, non-fading, deep red-maroon petals offset with golden beards. Award-winning and floriferous. This is a tall, clump-forming bearded iris up to 37 inches tall. Excellent for vertical effect in the landscape. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
