‘Superstition’ is said to be among the darkest bearded irises available. In certain light conditions it will appear as true black. When the light shines through the petals you’ll see that it is deepest purple. It’s also fragrant. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
